Oh, hey there. I walked outside today go to pick up my daughter from the school bus stop and thought to myself, why is it so hot? IT IS SEPTEMBER. It should immediately drop to 75 degrees once we get into this month, lol. But alas, it’s still 90 degrees and the humidity is too dang high. Thanks South Carolina! But what does this have to do with Blake & Hannah’s anniversary session? Well, when we shot these, back in May, BUDDY, it was HOT. But so was this session, some would say, it was LIT (forgive me for being lame, lol) 😀
I shot Blake & Hannah’s adorable outdoor wedding back in May of 2016. You can see that post HERE. You can also view their engagement photos HERE as well 🙂 They were adorable then, and nothing has changed. They may have grown a little as a couple, but my interaction with them was exactly the same and even more fun than any time before. I was running a model call for couples to fill out my summer a little bit and Hannah volunteered her and Blake. Immediate excitement on my part, haha. We just treated it as an anniversary session and went with it. Not only was it great getting to see them again, but it was just a great time shooting with them again. We laughed a ton, witnessed a duck murder (more on that below) unfortunately, and overall had a great time.
I could easily just share all of their photos from this session because I loved all of them so much! But I tried to keep it chill and only share a handful with you guys. So here are my faves 🙂
^^^Okay, so…..we were being all peaceful, just shooting away. I had Blake & Hannah sitting on this rock by the pond. Meanwhile, some ducks start swimming by. A few white ducks and then some random black duck. All of a sudden this black duck darts after one of the white ducks and literally held it under water until it died 😥 A straight up duck murder! It was awful! Blake tried throwing sticks and rocks at the duck so maybe it would let go and leave the other duck alone, but it didn’t work. RIP white ducky
I will forever encourage each couple of mine to take time for yourselves and celebrate your anniversary by getting photos made. I know once you get married you may not have as much time for things like that and sometimes it’s just nice to set this time aside and enjoy yourselves. Just have someone photograph you while doing it 😉
Thank you Blake & Hannah as always for being such wonderful models and clients for this shoot! I welcome you both forever and always to come and model for me 🙂
I met Blake & Alyssa in the fall of 2017 to discuss their upcoming May wedding. We immediately hit it off in that Starbucks. Like, “Heck yes, this couple is amazing and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding!” kind of feeling. We shot their engagements shortly after our initial meeting and the day went perfectly! No direction was really needed for these two as they are naturals in front of the camera, but when you have a couple who love each other THIS much, it’s easy peasy (lemon squeezey).
Every now and then when Alyssa would kiss Blake on the cheek, he always made this face where he would just look straight up (I caught it MULTIPLE times during our shoot, lol). They were constantly making each other laugh and when we had to get serious, they were seriously the best. I was able to try something new with them and they were absolute rock stars during my trials, haha.
Just simply going back and looking through these photos for this feature helped me remember how much I love working with them and how amazing their wedding will be next month. If they show their love this easily for an engagement shoot, their wedding is going to be so chock-full-o-love that tears may be shed. Fair warning, guys 😉
Here are a, not so, few of my favorites from Blake & Alyssa’s engagement photos 🙂
Blake & Alyssa are to be married on May 12th, 2018 at the beautiful Barn & Stables at Forevermore Farms in Moore and I am very excited to be a part of their big day 🙂
I’ve worked with the Coursons a few times now, this was our third session together. You can view their maternity and newborn/lifestyle sessions HERE & HERE! This time we were getting new family photos of Ian, Erica, and adorable Rivers in the beautiful fall weather before it go too cold. Except that day it was pretty windy and the air was a little chilly. Either way, we worked fast so Rivers wouldn’t get too cold and the little guy was a champ! And seriously the most adorable baby ever. I could just squish his little cheeks!
Here are a few favorites from our session together 🙂
I always love working with Ian, Erica, and Rivers and can’t wait to see them again. 🙂
Meeting Ben & Karina was fun. It decided to rain on us outside of the Starbucks that we met at, haha. We discussed many details of their big day (venue, style, what they were looking for, etc.) and spoke of how they met. I think they told me that they met a music festival. Karina, don’t kill me if I’m wrong, lol. It HAS been a year since we talked about it, haha. Just working with them on their wedding day was enough to tell me that they are more than perfect for each other. I never got the chance to work with them prior to the big day, and that’s totally okay. We got along so well and were able to communicate better than most couples that I’ve worked with.
The wedding day came and I somehow managed to show up matching the bridesmaids dresses without even realizing it, haha! Made me blend right in 😉 I arrived to the girls getting their hair and makeup done…Karina was getting her hair started (makeup was already done by the amazing Alores Norris of House of Flawless. Ladies were gathering together in a room in Ben & Karina’s ADORABLE home, dresses were hung in front of the closet just waiting to be worn. Or photographed…..whichever you prefer, haha. Ben was getting ready somewhere else so I was gonna see him when we arrived at The Dutch Barn for the ceremony 🙂
Their day was beautiful and perfect. We ALMOST got rained out! It was trying to rain on us the whole time as their ceremony was outdoors and while we were getting all formal photos. Thankfully we just had a sprinkling of rain and the day went amazing! I’m so thankful I was chosen to photograph their wedding and am happy to be sharing these with you! Here are just a few of my favorites from Ben & Karina’s wedding 🙂
Just another note….their wedding cake, WAS AMAZING. It was so simplistic, one layer was peanut butter cake with peanut butter icing and the other was chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. Before I left, Karina was so nice and cut me a slice to take home. Y’ALL! I got home completely exhausted but 100% wanted to devour that cake, lol.
Ben & Karina, thank you so much for including me on the most special of days. It was truly a joy getting to know you both and photographing your wedding. You are such a wonderfully beautiful couple and I wish you the absolute best in your marriage and lives together 🙂
