I had met Russ before our session together, but briefly. He was a groomsman in Ben & Karina’s wedding and are good friends of this lovely couple 🙂 I was suppose to do their 1st year anniversary photos this coming October, but since they were moving, they offered their session to Wanda & Russ for some maternity photos, to which I was happy to do. And while I don’t do it very often, I like to occasionally photograph a gorgeous baby bump. And this one was definitely a beauty 🙂
I met Wanda & Russ out at a friend’s home out in Traveler’s Rest, SC. I’m always sketchy about meeting people in places I’ve never been, but I was sent photos before hand and saw other photos, so I felt pretty confident. There were so many little gems and nice areas that made their maternity shoot together perfect. I felt like even though we were getting eat up by bugs and it being a tad hot, that it went great and officially took some of my favorite maternity photos to date.
Again, I had such a wonderful time shooting with Wanda & Russ and think their precious baby boy is SO adorable. He just turned one month old a few days ago! These are some of my favorite maternity photos to date and am so happy that Ben & Karina graciously gifted this session to them. ❤
I’ve worked with the Coursons a few times now, this was our third session together. You can view their maternity and newborn/lifestyle sessions HERE & HERE! This time we were getting new family photos of Ian, Erica, and adorable Rivers in the beautiful fall weather before it go too cold. Except that day it was pretty windy and the air was a little chilly. Either way, we worked fast so Rivers wouldn’t get too cold and the little guy was a champ! And seriously the most adorable baby ever. I could just squish his little cheeks!
Here are a few favorites from our session together 🙂
I always love working with Ian, Erica, and Rivers and can’t wait to see them again. 🙂
I met this beautiful family on the day of their session, starting in a back area at Glendale Shoals. As many times as I have shot there, I’ve never went down the road and shot in that area. I wish I would’ve discovered it sooner, because the light back there is so dreamy! We started their family portraits with all of the family and worked with their littles to get some smiles. The kids truly weren’t happy until we just let them run around and be themselves. In between the kids enjoying the bridge, waterfalls, and just the area in general, we worked in some photos of just Andy and his wife. I think it’s really important that the parents of any family have photos of just the two of them. After all, it started with just them 🙂
Andy, your family is beautiful and thank you for allowing me to capture your family portraits!
Here are some favorites 🙂
We ended the day with the kids just running around and playing. Basically, being kids. Makes everything easy and sometimes you get the best photos when they are running around playing. It was a pleasure meeting your beautiful family, Andy!
I just blogged about the Courson’s a few days ago (like I said, I’m catching up, haha) with their maternity session back in December. You can see that post HERE. Well Rivers made his appearance in January and Erica contacted me shortly after to make sure we got some photos before he got too big. I personally don’t care how big they are, it’s important to get photos of your babies no matter what, but that newborn stage is gone before you know it. They grow up WAY too fast!
Depending on the time of the year, you can get newborn photos outside, but I tend to recommend lifestyle sessions for babies. They are so small and fragile, and keeping them where they are most comfortable makes for an easier session. Especially when they get hungry or need a diaper change. And it’s also a lot easier for the parents as well. They get to do whatever they like and just be comfy in their own home.
Rivers was fully awake just about the entire time I was there, so we had a wide eyed baby for the session, haha. And was so happy! AND all dressed up in Pittsburg Penguins gear…..as you can tell…mom and dad (mostly dad) are fans, haha. Everything went so easy and I can’t wait to see these wonderful people again 🙂
Here are some of my favorites from The Courson’s Lifestyle session!
I love watching how the families I photograph grow over time. It makes me feel like I’m KINDA part of their family by getting to photograph such moments for them. I will still stand by saying that I think Rivers looks just like Erica, but we shall see how time will fight against me, haha.
Thank you Ian & Erica for allowing me to photograph your family, once again, and I hope to do more so in the future 🙂
I’ve worked with the Walden’s quite a few times, Sara & Kyle even more than that.
You can view all of the previous sessions together (at least the ones I have blogged, the rest are on the JMP Facebook page) in the links below:
The Walden Family – 2013 | Kyle – Post Heart Transplant | Sara – Maternity Mini
Sara & I had been trying to get a session together as my trips to Kentucky had/have been quite limited since I’m starting to pick up more weddings and all of my health issues from 2016 and pregnancy in 2015. But we finally made it! October 2016, we finally made it happen, haha. It had been years since I had seen Josh, Sara, and their boys and it was nice getting to see them again. I hadn’t realized how big the boys had gotten, they’re both wild and crazy little men, haha. We had us a time just getting a single shot of Gavin by himself, lol. But we got so many good photos of this wonderful family and I’m so glad that they choose me to capture these memories of them together 🙂
Here are good deal of my favorites from the Walden’s family session back in October.
I can’t wait to see you all again and hopefully we let it get to years again. We all know how crazy our schedules get, but I can’t wait to see you guys and those precious boys in the near future! Thank you again for allowing me photograph you 🙂
