I’ve worked with the Coursons a few times now, this was our third session together. You can view their maternity and newborn/lifestyle sessions HERE & HERE! This time we were getting new family photos of Ian, Erica, and adorable Rivers in the beautiful fall weather before it go too cold. Except that day it was pretty windy and the air was a little chilly. Either way, we worked fast so Rivers wouldn’t get too cold and the little guy was a champ! And seriously the most adorable baby ever. I could just squish his little cheeks!
Here are a few favorites from our session together 🙂
I always love working with Ian, Erica, and Rivers and can’t wait to see them again. 🙂
I just blogged about the Courson’s a few days ago (like I said, I’m catching up, haha) with their maternity session back in December. You can see that post HERE. Well Rivers made his appearance in January and Erica contacted me shortly after to make sure we got some photos before he got too big. I personally don’t care how big they are, it’s important to get photos of your babies no matter what, but that newborn stage is gone before you know it. They grow up WAY too fast!
Depending on the time of the year, you can get newborn photos outside, but I tend to recommend lifestyle sessions for babies. They are so small and fragile, and keeping them where they are most comfortable makes for an easier session. Especially when they get hungry or need a diaper change. And it’s also a lot easier for the parents as well. They get to do whatever they like and just be comfy in their own home.
Rivers was fully awake just about the entire time I was there, so we had a wide eyed baby for the session, haha. And was so happy! AND all dressed up in Pittsburg Penguins gear…..as you can tell…mom and dad (mostly dad) are fans, haha. Everything went so easy and I can’t wait to see these wonderful people again 🙂
Here are some of my favorites from The Courson’s Lifestyle session!
I love watching how the families I photograph grow over time. It makes me feel like I’m KINDA part of their family by getting to photograph such moments for them. I will still stand by saying that I think Rivers looks just like Erica, but we shall see how time will fight against me, haha.
Thank you Ian & Erica for allowing me to photograph your family, once again, and I hope to do more so in the future 🙂
I went to high school with Tori and when I saw that she had gotten engaged on Facebook, I decided to basically refer myself as a photographer if she hadn’t already found one, haha. At the time, they hadn’t even started with wedding planning but said that they definitely wanted me to take their engagement photos, which I, of course, said yes!
Adam & Tori brought their sweet pups along for the first part of their session and they were so sweet! Whenever Tori & Adam went to change their outfits, their little beagle whined at the end of the walkway until they came back, haha. And if you know Tori, you know how much of an animal lover she is, so it didn’t shock me at all that she wanted some photos with her babies 🙂
When it came to picking a location, they wanted something with a waterfall/creek of some type and I had a hard time coming up with anything as I don’t live up in Kentucky anymore. But Tori had a place in mind, so I followed them up to Flat Lick Falls out in Grey Hawk. I thought for sure that they were leading me out into the middle of nowhere (it kind of was though, haha), but once we got there, it was totally worth it. At the time of day when we were shooting the light was just perfect and the sun was setting in between the trees with that gorgeous, October light. We were able to get some beautiful photos and ended up hiking up and down a mountain to get to the gorgeous falls. Tori said that I was probably going to add a new clause to my contract about “hiking” now, lol.
But without further ado, here are a few of my faves from Adam & Tori’s engagement session!
Thank you, Adam & Tori, for allowing me to photograph this amazing time if your lives! I hope the rest of your wedding planning is going just as well. They are to be married this May in a destination intimate ceremony 🙂
I met up with Eddie & Heather to do a quick fall mini session with them and their dog, Millie at the beautiful Milliken Park in Spartanburg. It was a gorgeous day! Heather and I were talking beforehand about it possibly being too hot for Eddie because we ended up shooting a little earlier than what I’m use to, but it was perfect! I tried keeping them in as much as shade as possible and we made it all work out just fine 🙂
Millie, on the other hand, was/is the most well behaved dog! As long as you had some pepperoni, that is 😛 No, I’m serious, she was so sweet and had the biggest smile for a dog. We only had one mishap where she took off mid picture for a pepperoni, but sat right back down, haha. Eddie & Heather don’t have any children, so this fun pup is their baby 🙂
Here are a few of my favorites from this lovely little family’s session 😉
Thank you both for allowing me to capture these photos of you and Millie! I had a wonderful time working with you 🙂
