Angela – Bridals | Rock Quarry Garden – Greenville, SC | South Carolina Wedding Photographer

I let Angela take her time on choosing the best spot for her bridals.  She wanted something in the Greenville area, but still beautiful for her portraits.  She texted me one day saying that she wanted the Rock Quarry Garden.  Why I haven’t shot here before is BEYOND me, this is just a cute hidden gem!  I literally passed it up on the way there, lol.  If you don’t know it’s off on the side of the road by some houses, but it’s technically a Greenville, SC park.  Lots of people have small wedding ceremonies there, many people go to have family portraits made, and even bridals.  It’s actually quite beautiful.

If you haven’t already seen them, Adam & Angela’s engagement session was a DOOZY, lol.  We battled the rain many times and struggled to get their session booked because it literally rained every single time we tried to schedule a day.  You can view their engagement post HERE.   And since Adam & Angela are FINALLY married, I can post these beauties!

We started scheduling for Angela’s bridals.  The day was beautiful, the weather was warm/humid, but we were in the shade so it wasn’t that bad.  As with all of my bridals, we were scheduled for two full hours of shooting, but that came to a close after one hour because Angela got too hot and started to feel like she was going to faint.  This woman is a TROOPER though.  She finished up a few photos at the last bit of that hour and you couldn’t even tell that she was struggling to stand.  She’s amazing.  🙂

Here are just a handful of my faves from Angela’s bridal session!

Thank you Angela for allowing me to be the photographer for all of these moments!  Can’t wait to post up the wedding blog post here soon 🙂

Adam & Angela – Engaged | Falls Park /Downtown- Greenville, SC | South Carolina Wedding Photography

I didn’t meet Adam & Angela before their engagements, it was a phone call with Angela and she booked right away ❤  So, we went ahead and sent over each others schedules for their engagement session.  Everything was perfect until the day of, and it was, of course, pouring the rain all day long.  Adam & Angela had some engagement photos done prior to booking with me, and wanted some sunlight and nice weather for these, so we rescheduled, understandably.  So we did just that….and then again….IT RAINED.  We met up in Greenville and it ended up raining on the way and was really cloudy.  The radar was just all over the place, haha.  Y’ALL, we thought that we were never gonna be able to get them done.  It was very important for them to have their engagements done at Falls Park as it was where they had their first date and where Adam proposed.  So, it was vital to find a time that was perfect.  We finally picked another date and it ended up being great!…for about 45 minutes.

Before it really started, we saw this incredibly bright rainbow peeking in between buildings and trees, so we just HAD to capture it in a photo.  It also had great meaning for Adam & Angela as well from their recent bible study in church.  It was just meant to be 🙂  It ended up pouring the rain and we somehow managed to run under a bridge for about 15 minutes.  We met a fun little family doing a scavenger hunt as well, and I volunteered to take a photo like I was zombie hunting with a giant stick.  So, I’m forever in a random family’s scavenger hunt photo somewhere, haha!

We caught a break in the last few minutes to get some in front of the famous downtown Greenville bridge before it came an absolute DOWNPOUR.  I mean, I don’t think I’ve ran so fast to cover up my gear in my life, haha.  Luckily, Adam & Angela had park in a lot nearby, so we didn’t get too soaked.  But, even though their engagement session was cut short, I feel like we got to know one another well enough that day and captured some wonderful images celebrating their engagement 🙂

Right after this last photo, it started pouring, and I do mean POURING.  We were going to walk on the bridge itself, but we didn’t even get that chance.  The rain was like, “NAHH, not today” lol.  I’m so excited to be photographing Adam & Angela getting married next Saturday on October 6th, 2018.  Their day is going to be beautiful and I can’t wait to be a part of it 🙂

Blake & Hannah – Anniversary | Milliken Park – Spartanburg, SC | South Carolina Wedding Photography

Oh, hey there.  I walked outside today go to pick up my daughter from the school bus stop and thought to myself, why is it so hot?  IT IS SEPTEMBER.  It should immediately drop to 75 degrees once we get into this month, lol.  But alas, it’s still 90 degrees and the humidity is too dang high.  Thanks South Carolina!  But what does this have to do with Blake & Hannah’s anniversary session?  Well, when we shot these, back in May, BUDDY, it was HOT.  But so was this session, some would say, it was LIT (forgive me for being lame, lol) 😀

I shot Blake & Hannah’s adorable outdoor wedding back in May of 2016.  You can see that post HERE.  You can also view their engagement photos HERE as well 🙂 They were adorable then, and nothing has changed.  They may have grown a little as a couple, but my interaction with them was exactly the same and even more fun than any time before.  I was running a model call for couples to fill out my summer a little bit and Hannah volunteered her and Blake.  Immediate excitement on my part, haha.  We just treated it as an anniversary session and went with it.  Not only was it great getting to see them again, but it was just a great time shooting with them again.  We laughed a ton, witnessed a duck murder (more on that below) unfortunately,  and overall had a great time.

I could easily just share all of their photos from this session because I loved all of them so much!  But I tried to keep it chill and only share a handful with you guys.  So here are my faves 🙂

^^^Okay, so…..we were being all peaceful, just shooting away.  I had Blake & Hannah sitting on this rock by the pond.  Meanwhile, some ducks start swimming by.  A few white ducks and then some random black duck.  All of a sudden this black duck darts after one of the white ducks and literally held it under water until it died 😥  A straight up duck murder!  It was awful!  Blake tried throwing sticks and rocks at the duck so maybe it would let go and leave the other duck alone, but it didn’t work.  RIP white ducky

I will forever encourage each couple of mine to take time for yourselves and celebrate your anniversary by getting photos made.  I know once you get married you may not have as much time for things like that and sometimes it’s just nice to set this time aside and enjoy yourselves.  Just have someone photograph you while doing it 😉

Thank you Blake & Hannah as always for being such wonderful models and clients for this shoot!  I welcome you both forever and always to come and model for me 🙂

Blake & Alyssa – Married | Forevermore Farm Home of the Original Barn & Stables – Moore, SC | South Carolina Wedding Photography

I met Blake & Alyssa in early Fall 2017.  Just our back and forth emails talking about their wedding made me giddy as I felt like we were a wonderful fit for each other.  We met up over coffee discussed all of the details of their big day.  This gorgeous venue, bridal party, their vision on how they wanted things to look and feel.  Blake & Alyssa just felt like long lost friends to me, even in that initial meeting.  We scheduled their engagement session that day and off we went on this wondrous journey.  You can view their fall engagement photos HERE.

Then we get to the wedding day.  It was a gorgeous, sunny (but dang was it hot!) May afternoon.  There was a slight breeze every now and then that I think we ALL enjoyed whenever it grazed through.  Forevermore Farms is a gorgeous venue with not one, but TWO options for your wedding.  They have the Barn and the Stables.  Blake & Alyssa chose the Stables.  Alyssa and her bridal party got ready in this little area outside of the stables, away from Blake’s vision.  His area was in the stables right off of the dance floor.  I arrived just as Alyssa was gathering things together for their reception.  Everyone was all dolled up with hair and makeup all ready, just needed to get dressed.  Everyone finishes up and we move onto the first look with Alyssa’s dad, and move onto the ceremony and the rest of the day is history.

So, finally to show off these gorgeous wedding images in the JMP blog.  I tried to keep it simple, but that was impossible.  This is a fair warning, this post is photo heavy, haha.  But without any time to waste, here are what I feel shows off the love and fun filled day celebrating the marriage of Blake & Alyssa 🙂

OH!  Before I forget!  This was a total surprise to almost everyone at the wedding (I’m not sure if anyone else besides the three of us knew about it), but Alyssa and her dad planned a shake up to your usual father-daughter dance.  They started it off with Journey’s “Lights” and somewhere in the middle you hear this scratch and Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” starts playing.  Y’ALL they coordinated this dance together and it was perfect!  So glad that I was there to capture this greatness.

These people were having the time of their lives and to be honest, I felt like getting out there myself, haha!  When I left, they were still partying it up!  I’m so thankful that Blake & Alyssa chose me to document this wonderful time in their lives and I get to share it again and again!  I wish you both the absolute best in your lives and marriage together 🙂

Ben & Karina – Spring Couple Session | Furman University – Greenville, SC | South Carolina Wedding Photography

Couples & Engagements;  One of my favorite things to photograph, aside from weddings, of course.  But my favorite is when I get to photograph my past wedding clients outside of their big day.  I worked with Ben & Karina last year for their gorgeous October barn wedding (you can see that post here) and was needing a couple for a model call as I wanted to photograph Furman University’s beautiful Spring trees and needed the perfect couple.  Ben & Karina were indeed that perfect couple.

They volunteered right away and I knew it was going to be perfect.  We only worked together on their wedding (they already had engagement photos done when they booked me for their wedding) but we get along so very well and they are just wonderful together.  It was a match made in heaven, obviously.  We were going to be doing an anniversary session this October for them as they had a little time left over from their wedding that wasn’t used.  But they told me that Ben was offered a job and they were going to be moving very soon after 😦 So, this shoot was perfect for them to have even if it weren’t on their anniversary.

It was incredibly hard picking out a handful from their session as I could’ve easily posted them all.  I adore how expressive they are about their love and it shows so much through these photos.  So without further ado, this beautiful spring and love-filled session and as few photos that I could manage to share 😛

It’s always a joy working with Ben & Karina and this was no exception.  Since our session together, they’ve since moved (very recently, actually) to another state and have moved into their new home 🙂  I wish you both the absolute best of luck in your new adventure together!
