Bryson & Jessica – Married | Selma Baptist Church – Woodruff, SC | South Carolina Wedding Photographer

Watching Bryson & Jessica’s journey to their wedding day was just lovely.  Upon meeting Jessica & Bryson together (originally met Jess’s mom and herself) we had to struggle with their engagements because we TOTALLY forgot about daylight savings time.  You can read more about that and view their engagement photos HERE.  And Bryson informed me that he had no idea that engagement sessions were a thing and didn’t know anything about bridals, haha.  We let ya know about those real quick though.  It’s okay, buddy 😛

I also done Jessica’s bridals and you can view those HERE!  And once you’re done looking at those beauties, come on back and take a gander at Bryson & Jessica’s wedding photos 🙂

Bryson & Jessica were married in a small church in Woodruff, SC and on a beautiful (and totally hot) August day.  I arrived and the ladies were sitting around in their gorgeous floral robes awaiting for what the day would hold.  I got photos of all of the little details and came back to get Jessica getting into her dress.  They opted out of a first look because my girl didn’t wanna ruin her makeup.  Don’t blame ya at all, my mom gave me the stink eye if I even thought about crying at my wedding (LOL). I think watching her reaction coming down the aisle was worth it.  Since we can’t share them all, here are a good collection of my favorites, telling the story of Bryson & Jessica’s wedding day 🙂

Bryson & Jessica decided to end their day a little early for their honeymoon and had their guests blowing bubbles and throwing bird seed as they exited the parking lot.  Thank you both for having me for your big day and the journey to it!  I’m so blessed to have gotten to know y’all and am still currently documenting your lives together.  If y’all don’t know, Jessica is expecting their first child!  ANNNND, I’m doing the baby’s photos, so I’m pretty excited about that 😀

Congratulations to you both on your marriage and that precious baby!  I can’t wait to document even more of your lives together and wish you the absolute best in your marriage 🙂

A Little Surprise…

I know I haven’t been as active on the blog or on the JMP Facebook page much here lately and believe me, I have reasons.  January & Febraury are my slow months because of the weather, right after Christmas, not as many bookings during this time of year.  So, I’m looking to book things more this coming month and through the summer to make up for the fact that I won’t be available during the Fall.  Why?  Well…let me explain.

Ya see……..well, I don’t really need to explain.  I can just show you.

YES!  I am pregnant!  I am due at the beginning of October and my family is so very excited.  😀

This also explains why I have been so absent on the JMP Facebook page.  The struggle has been real with this morning (or all day, at times) sickness, lol.

So, what does that mean for JMP?  Well, that means, unfortunately, no fall shoots.  I will most likely stop any/all bookings around mid-end of August, depending on how the pregnancy goes.  If I feel like I am able to continue shooting past that mark, I’ll announce it.  BUT!  For now, I am going to booking everything from now until mid August.  I may start back up in mid-late November, but like I I said, it all depends on how the pregnancy goes and how well I recover.

SO, with that being said, any/all shoots will be done this spring and summer.   And speaking of this Spring, I have planned my next trip to Kentucky!  If you are indeed interested, please contact me regarding booking as my spots are extremely limited due to the booking of a wedding and my personal time with family.

I want to thank those of you who already know about the pregnancy, and have congratulated and said such kind words to David, Hailey, and I.  We are so excited to be adding another member to our family and cannot wait for this next chapter in our lives to begin 🙂

Jonathan & VeLora – Fall Engagement | Kentucky

One thing I love about going home in the fall?  The trees, the cool weather, just…..ahhh.  Down here in SC, we don’t get as pretty and colorful of trees for as long as Kentucky does.  And it photographs so well and it’s just simply one of my favorite times to do shoots, ever.

Jonathan & VeLora, I immediately jumped up and wanted to do their engagement photos once it was announced they were engaged.  VeLora is also my cousin, so you know I had to hook a sister up!  Plus, she is SUPER gorgeous and who would want to miss the opportunity to get photos of this beauty?  And I also went to school with Jonathan, so we all worked together very well.

VeLora & Jonathan had only been engaged for a few weeks whenever we done their engagement session and so in love.  Jonathan proposed to VeLora at Cumberland Falls in Corbin, KY.  If you’re a local in our town, you know Cumberland is the place to be when it comes to proposals, fishing, and camping 😛  Continue reading

Devon & Wendy – Engaged | London, KY

This couple.  My lordy, Devon & Wendy, you two are probably the funniest couple I’ve ever worked with.  And that is absolutely, 100% fine with me, haha.  I never fail to have a good time with this couple.  They are so completely comfortable with one another and in front of the camera.  And forget my crazy self, they pretty much just do whatever they want, and I love it, lol.  It shows their character and that’s why I love working with them 🙂

I’ve worked with Devon & Wendy before in THIS shoot back 2013.  I still have favorites from that shoot just because they are perfect together in photos.  And now!  They are engaged and will be getting married in late Spring/early Summer!  Yay!

Here are just some of my favorites from their engagement session.

When the Opportunity Comes a Knockin’

I have been feeling down.  I’m pretty sure some of you could really tell at some times, and that’s okay.  It’s okay to feel uninspired, lifeless, or pathetic at what you do.  Because that just gives you a reason to pick yourself back up and do it even better.

As many of you know, my little family moved down here to SC in April of 2012.  It’s so hard to believe that we’ve been living here for almost 2 years already.  Since then, business hasn’t been the best.  I didn’t expect it to be, but I’ve always had high hopes.   Before we moved, my business in KY was just starting to kick off, which is such a bummer, because moving meant that I had to literally start all over again.  Over two years of work…gone.  It’s really discouraging knowing that I could’ve been somewhere much farther than where I am right now if we hadn’t moved, BUT…things happen.  And sometimes, for the better.

If you follow me on Facebook, you might have seen where I’ve talked about “An amazing opportunity” falling at my feet.  And it didn’t just fall at my feet, it kinda slapped me in the face.  I had to make a difficult decision in less than a few days about whether or not I would want to accept this opportunity and potentially get my business where it needs to be.

SOOOOO….what is this amazing opportunity?!  I’m so curious!

I received an email from someone who runs a preschool/daycare close to here (not gonna release the location, exactly), and wants ME (YES, ME!!) to take the children’s school photos!  My jaw literally dropped to the floor when I read this email and I just couldn’t believe it.  I’ve been praying for something like this to happen for me and my business.  I needed something telling me that it’s absolutely worth it and that I shouldn’t quit just yet……and this was it.

So, why was this such a difficult decision?  I have to come up with many things for these photos that I don’t typically use or even have the money to get right now.  I need a backdrop and stand (which I can make myself, but still need funds), plus props for the kids and for some babies.  I have to fully feel in my heart that everything that I give to the parents of these children will be loved and that I will make sales from what the parents order.  Being so heavy on my heart, I wasn’t exactly sure that this was for me at all because I’m not a studio photographer at all, haha.  But the school is proving me with a room with lots of natural light, so that will work wonderfully!  So…on that note, I accepted this job with great pride and confidence.  I am very proud of the decision that I have made and cannot wait to see these children’s smiling faces.

I appreciate any thoughts, kind words, and prayers that any of you have already given me throughout the process of deciding what to do and I’ll definitely love them even more while the day approaches 🙂

But until the day does come, I have decided to do some mini sessions in Spartanburg or around the area to cover the cost of the equipment and props that I would need for the kids’ photos.

These are going to be short, fun little sessions for anyone who wants to book!  I will be doing them on all weekends leading up to May 1st, as long as the weather permits.

It’s as simple as that.  Fantastic deal and a great time to get those pictures done before Easter! 🙂

Once again, thank you all for the support and prayers.  Everything is appreciated.  *muah!*

Until next time…
