This was a first. My first surprise proposal and I was so giddy to be doing it for Jeremy & Marett. He called me one day in December saying that he was going to propose to Marett and wanted to do it at Wofford College as it was where they met, plus the campus is beautiful anyway. He told me that he wanted to do a walk around on the campus, to show her some new things that were going on (Correct me if I’m wrong, but pretty sure Jeremy’s dad works at Wofford). Then Jeremy had an idea that I approach them as if I’m just scouting the area for an engagement session that I’d have the next day, and ask them to be stand in subjects to test the light.
The way that it worked out was hilarious and perfect.
When they got to our meeting point, I stopped and introduced myself and asked them if they would mind standing in for me. And immediately, Marett started laughing. They agreed we started shooting. I asked them if they would mind walking back up the path they came and just talk and walk back towards me and we would go from there. I think the photos can tell the story after that 😉
What I didn’t know was that Marett had been asking Jeremy about when he was going to propose to her. Jeremy told me that she basically had her ring picked out, lol. Her best friend actually helped pick out the ring, and it was perfect.
Without typing out a book (lol), here are some of my favorites from Jeremy & Marett’s surprise proposal session 🙂
Thank you to Jeremy for allowing me to document this amazing part of his and Marett’s life! It was an amazing experience and I had a great time planning this surprise for Marett. She was definitely surprised, haha.
I wish you both the absolute best in your lives together!
