JR & Kayla were married on August 1st at the Four Star Village Barn. This place was paradise to a photographer like me. With all of the wood and chic light colors, it was just lovely. But more about them, not me, lol. I done their engagement photos back in March of this year and we weren’t as fortunate weather wise. Well…we shot around 3PM (which we didn’t have a choice, haha) so the sun was very overhead and bright. And in Kentucky, the trees don’t start blooming again until late March/April. At this time, the trees were still very much bare and had dead leaves. BUT! We made it work. I had to break out the reflector that day and make the best of what we had. You can see their engagement photos HERE.
Kayla and I went to high school together, so we had talked before quite a bit before ever discussing their wedding or engagements. After Kayla started telling me about where her wedding was going to be and the details, color scheme…everything. I HAD to shoot their wedding. And lucky for me, JR & Kayla agreed 🙂
I am so blessed to have been able to shoot this wedding. It was so beautiful and that venue was absolutely LOVELY. To have been a part of their big day warmed my heart and made me even more happy to just be there. JR & Kayla are an amazing couple and deserve every single bit of happiness.
OH! Also? Kayla is THE most artistic and crafty person I know. She painted the mural at our high school and it was AMAZING. So a lot of the signs at the wedding were painted by her.
JR & Kayla decided on a first look and I’m SO happy that they did. It was my first one and was decided at the very last minute, haha. Kayla just burst into tears after she saw JR right before the ceremony. I will definitely be encouraging first looks from now on if the couple is into it 🙂
All of the men just walked up the ceremony area with the girls following right behind them on a golf cart, haha.
The look of pure joy. Just loved it!
Whenever we got to the formals, we got some really sweet shots of Kayla and her sister and then a nice intimate shot of JR and one of his best man, haha.
This car is very well loved by JR and Kayla and is a work in progress, so it was decided to throw some shots in with the car, haha. Loved how fun these girls were!
This could definitely be one of my favorite shots from the whole wedding. Just LOVE it.
They have this tradition at the venue where you get to sign and date your names into a leaf on the “tree” in the bridal room. I thought that was so neat!
I absolutely love JR & Kayla. They are a couple that just seem like a couple that’s been together for so long, they didn’t even need to get married. I wish them both the absolute best in life and love. I thank you both for including me on your special day! 🙂
