This session was a first. The first of MANY others, I hope. This session with the Rowes was my first lifestyle shoot and I absolutely LOVED it.
I have worked with Matt & Ashley before back in December of 2013 when Ashley was just 6 or 7 months pregnant (and glowing, I might add!). Their session made me so happy because there were so many images that I absolutely loved, and still do. You can find their session HERE. So when Ashley got up with me and told me that they wanted to get their little family photographed SOON, I was ecstatic beyond words. We had originally decided to shoot at Milliken Park here in Spartanburg because it was relatively close to their home just in case little Jonah got too hot and then we could finish the session at their home. The weather kept changing on us and was telling me that it was going to rain most likely (and it did NOT, of course, lol) and was going to be pretty hot (at least 95 degrees). I finally asked Ashley if she thought that doing them all in their home would be better. The lifestyle shoot would capture them in their home where everyone was most comfortable and little Jonah wouldn’t be burning up. They loved it and it was set. I was so excited to be doing their family pictures, but what I didn’t expect was for it to be SO much better.
Even though little Jonah was tired and hungry, he was a champ and was happy for about half of the time I was there, haha. He then got VERY tired and fussy, so Ashley had to take him into another room to get him calm and the next thing we knew, he was OUT like a light, haha. Poor little feller was so tired he just passed out. I was so happy to photograph this beautiful little family and hope they enjoy these photos as much as I do! 🙂
Jonah’s room. Ahhh…this room was just PRECIOUS! And the canvas collage on the wall above his crib, I just couldn’t get enough of. ADOR-ABLEEE!
These teddy bears were requested to be put into the photos one way or another. The one on the left was made from Ashley’s great grandma’s mink coat and the other is made from her grandpa’s suit. Very sweet…even if Jonah wasn’t feeling it, lol.
This particular moment was when Jonah was pretty upset and crying so what does Mama Ashley do? She starts singing. Beautifully, might I add. And her voice eventually calmed the little man down so he could go to his daddy 🙂 And then, of course, the little booger was as calm as can be. No cries for that little man!
And I couldn’t forget about Pablo. Probably the most furry and lovable cats I’ve ever met. And quite pretty as well 🙂
I loved photographing this little family and hope to do so again in the future. Jonah is absolutely beautiful and Matt & Ashley are just wonderful parents. 🙂
