John & DeAnna were married on November 2nd, 2013 and must I say…I was so excited for this wedding. When DeAnna and I started talking details and colors and just about her general theme of their big day, I got all giddy inside. It was a Celtic themed wedding y’all. OMGAH, how exciting was it that I was gonna be shooting a gorgeous CELTIC wedding? Neutral colors with some greens and pink shades? Sound familiar? Sounds a lot like Cody & Cassidy’s wedding back in June of 2013 (which I LOVED and still do!). So naturally, I was in love with everything. AND! We booked some bridals with DeAnna, so yes…I could NOT be happier 🙂
I met with John, DeAnna, and Rhonda (DeAnna’s mom) at a Starbucks in Spartanburg back in July to get to know them, their wedding plans, and just go over the general stuff. You know how most of the time the man of the relationship is usually pretty chill and down with everything and doesn’t really speak much in meetings like this? Yeah, well, John was different. It was refreshing to see the both of them (especially him!) speak their minds with anything and everything about the wedding and how I work. We eventually came up with a plan that worked for everyone and I’m so glad that I got the opportunity to make things work 🙂
On to the wedding…
The small details (as always) caught my eye. The lighting was so dramatic and wonderful for this big family church. It was decorated with such love with these adorable little mossy green colors and some pink flowers. Very much my style 🙂
Since I was one of the first ones at the church, I didn’t know that apparently we were all locked out of the room where DeAnna and her lovely bridesmaids needed to get ready. They tried picking the lock and everything….it didn’t work, lol. Here we were all watching it pour the rain while we waited for someone to get to the church with a key.
This gorgeous bride being walked down the aisle by her wonderful father 🙂
OH! I totally forgot this little tidbit! I was down the aisle while John & DeAnna stood at the alter when I started hearing “Amazing Grace” played by bagpipes. Now they had Celtic music playing before and during parts of the wedding, so I thought it was a track, but NO! It was actually a bagpipe player that almost everyone was surprised about. I think one of the groomsmen had it arranged for the guy to play at the wedding. Very surprising and beautifully done 🙂
And….the kiss 🙂
I have two different shots for this pose. The other one was pointed out from a different angle by one of the bridesmaids. It is seriously gorgeous. But it doesn’t help that I had such a beautiful bride to photograph 🙂
The ladies 🙂
I loved the way John & DeAnna looked at each other on their wedding day. So much love!
And the lord knows that we can’t start a Celtic wedding reception without some awesome bagpipe dancin’ 🙂
I love this shot of John & his mom. She was so attached and emotional during the whole dance; I just couldn’t get enough of it. This one is particularly my favorite because she is wiping away tears from her face. But not tears of sadness, tears of joy. She was so happy and was smiling so much and just holding on so tight to John. Never wanting to let go.
Lastly, I was asked to stay a few more moments by John’s mom to capture this moment. They were presenting DeAnna with a plaque and welcoming her to Chisholm Family. It was so sweet and genuine, her reaction. They are really the sweetest family 🙂
After this day was over, and I was reflecting on the photos with their families and just how much they loved each other, I was so blessed to have documented this wonderful occasion. I wish you both the very best marriage and love in life. I hope you cherish every single moment together and dread every day apart.
Congratulations John & DeAnna! 🙂
Until next time…
